Following feedback from the Council’s statutory consultation, Watkin Jones Group have submitted significant amendments to the scheme, responding to queries and concerns about elements of the submitted plans. These revisions include:
- A reduction in height and re-orientation of the building closest to Viridian Apartments, minimising amenity impacts.
- The retention of the mature trees and greenery along Battersea Park Road and on the corner of Sleaford Street, reducing the footprint of the proposed buildings.
- Adjustment to the residential mix of the affordable housing building including a higher percentage of Social Rent housing compared to intermediate affordable housing.
- A new local community space.
- Improvements to the proposed landscaping and public play space, as well as internal amenities for students, resulting in biodiversity and urban greening improvements.
- Improvements to energy efficiency and sustainability.
